My friends and I stopped here for breakfast on a gloomy Sunday morning after a brief run/walk. Originally, we had our sights set on Mamas right up the street, but the line was already pretty long by the time we got there, even though it hadn’t even opened yet.
So we decided to walk around and look for another spot.
Caffe Delucchi was nearby, and despite its three-and-a-half star rating on Yelp, we didn’t bother searching for anything else because wanted to eat and have had our fair share of good experiences at eateries with such ratings.
This was one of those restaurants, however, where Yelp displayed a justified rating. I ordered a hazelnut latte that was so watered down and tasted more like milk than anything. It was $4 and I only had a few sips of it before I pushed it aside and requested for a glass of water instead. I also ordered an avocado scramble, which wasn’t bad at all, wasn’t anything special, either. The egg was plain scrambled – no pepper or anything, which I like to have on mine.
I have absolutely no complaints about the service here, though. The servers were cordial and welcoming and checked up on us enough times to ensure we had everything we needed.
Overall, I agree with Yelp on giving this 3.5/5 stars. I give it the extra 0.5 star because I had a pleasant experience with the service. But I wouldn’t go out of my way to come back here and recommend it as a must-visit spot in San Francisco.
