I’m not fond of shopping for clothes.
It costs money (that could be saved for traveling) and it’s tiring, so I hardly shop when I’m home.
(I’ve also calculated that if you spend $10 to $20 a week on clothes, that’s $520 to $1040 a year, which is enough for a few plane tickets!)
But despite my dislike, I just had to make an exception for Greenhills Shopping Center in the Philippines because it’s ridiculously cheap and you get quality clothing. Prices beat all Black Friday sales I’ve ever been to in America, and I have no intention of shopping for several months to a few years after everything I bought.
For P5,105 ($116.02 USD), I was able to purchase the following (not all were for me!):
- 14 blouses
- 4 dresses
- 4 T-shirts
- 1 hoodie
- 1 scrabble board
At a total of 24 items, the average cost for each came out to about P212.70 or $4.83 USD. The most I spent on a single item was the hoodie, which cost P450/$10.23 USD.)
The shopping center is huge with a diverse selection of merchandise. From clothing and shoes to phone cases and kitchen utensils, there’s something for everyone at Greenhills.
I was pressed for time during my visit, so I mainly roamed around the tiangge (the Tagalog term for “bazaar”).
Most blouses and T-shirts in this section of the shopping center cost between P150 to P350, and although that’s already inexpensive, there’s a way to get them even cheaper:
